The Schwartz/Reisman Emergency Centre is an academic emergency room with approximately 65,000 visits per year. The hospital specializes in obstetrical care and care of the elderly. Situated in the heart of downtown Toronto, Mount Sinai Hospital cares for a high proportion of homeless patients as well as patients with mental health and addiction issues.

The St. Michael’s Emergency Centre is a busy academic emergency room. The hospital serves as a regional trauma, stroke, and catheterization centre. Situated in the heart of downtown Toronto, St. Michael’s services a large proportion of homeless patients as well as those with mental health and addiction issues.
Scarborough and Rouge Hospital
The Scarborough and Rouge Hospital consists of two community emergency sites with combined patient visits of 110,000 per year. Pediatric patients account for 30% of the patient population.

This active community emergency department treats approximately 85,000 patients per year with a broad variety of clinical problems. Pediatrics patients make up approximately 30% of the ED population and are cared for in a dedicated pediatric centre.

The Brampton Civic Hospital Emergency Department is one of the busiest, high acuity emergency rooms in Ontario with approximately 135,000 patient visits per year. Pediatrics comprise 30% of their patient population.

The Etobicoke General Hospital Emergency Department is a very busy, high acuity ED with lots of exposure to resuscitation cases and procedures. We treat approximately 80,000 patients a year, which includes approximately 25% pediatric cases.

The St. Joseph’s Health Centre Emergency Department is a busy community emergency room caring for approximately 100,000 patients per year. A dedicated pediatric emergency zone has been created to care for infants, children, and youth, which comprise 30% of their patient population.

The Charlotte and Lewis Steinberg Emergency Centre at NYGH is a busy general community emergency department with approximately 100,000 patient visits per year. NYGH is a regional children’s health centre where 20% of patients seen in the ER are children. The hospital also has a strong obstetrical focus.

The Etobicoke General Hospital Emergency Department is a very busy, high acuity ED with lots of exposure to resuscitation cases and procedures. We treat approximately 80,000 patients a year, which includes approximately 25% pediatric cases.

Humber River Hospital is located in northwest Toronto and serves a population of 850,000 people. It is a regional centre for dialysis and oncology and the first centre for excellence for laproscopic bariatric surgery.

St. Michael's Hospital
The Trauma Program at St. Michael’s Hospital was accredited in 2006 as a Level 1 trauma centre and provides care to multi-system trauma patients in the southern GTA and South Central Ontario. It plays a central role in the regional trauma system, receiving patients for quaternary trauma care from across the province. St. Michael’s Trauma Team cares for approximately 700 trauma victims per year.
